Newly Installed Sod & Grass Care
Our team installs only the BEST quality Sod & Seed! Our goal is to set you up for success, from grass choice to care: here is everything you need to know for your new lawn.
Choosing the Perfect Sod:
ZEON ZOYSIA
Our most popular and resilient grass choice is ZEON ZOYSIA. Our team highly recommends this grass. It does well in sun and shade. It blends well with the most common grass types, ensuring a happy HOA and a cohesive yard.
ZEON ZOYSIA is drought-resistant and tolerant of extreme heat & cold, making it perfect for Georgia’s extremely chaotic weather. It does well against bugs and disease, but we do recommend the regular preventive measures, especially treating for armyworms and moles after the first month of installation.
TIFTUF BERMUDA
TIFTUF BERMUDA is perfect for yards that are in unrelenting full sun. It is the best Bermuda on the market and most drought-resistant! It holds onto it’s lovely appearance even in dry and high-traffic areas! This Bermuda can be planted all year round and is disease-resistant.
Fescue & Rye Seed With Wheat Straw
If you are looking to fill in a spot with 24/7 shade. Grass seed and wheat straw with a Fescue and Rye mix is what we recommend. It grows into a bright green patch that will brighten up that dark area.
Artificial Turf
If there is no grass that meets your needs, or you need no maintenance whatsoever, our team can install high-quality artificial turf in a variety of styles! We have done personal putt-putt courses to entire backyards in artificial turf!
Watering Schedule
NEW SOD INSTALLATION: WEEKS 1-4
December-February:
Water 2-4 times per week. Just don’t want the sod to dry out.
March-May:
Water sod in the mornings before 9am but no earlier than 5am. Water every day for 30-40 mins per zone with irrigation. If using above-ground sprinklers, it needs 1 hour plus per area.
June-August:
Water sod in the mornings before 9am but no earlier than 5am. Water every day for 1 hour per zone. Above-ground sprinkler needs 1 hour plus.
September-November:
Water sod in the mornings before 9am but no earlier than 5am. Water every day for 30-40 mins per zone. An above-ground sprinkler needs 45 minutes to 1 hour per area.
FIFTH WEEK:
Water every other day to gradually wean off watering, but water as needed if anything looks yellow or white.
-Wean off gradually: every other day, then every third day, etc., until grass maintains its green color on its own. (This takes longer in warmer months than in the cooler months.)
-If the grass ever turns white, yellow, or brown, it’s a sign of needing more water. It’s common for your grass to dry out more at the seams and edges. (Hand-watering the dry spots can help them green up more quickly.)
-The water should soak down to the roots. If it rains enough to absorb into the ground, you don’t need to water that day.
*WINTER WATERING TIPS:
-Only water ONCE a day when temperatures reach above freezing
-Try to water early on the soonest day when temperatures are above freezing
-Water every day for a month unless it rains or snows (then start skipping a day)
-The water should soak down well to the roots. Make sure it gets wet enough.

Pesticides & Maintenance
The grass is in its baby phase for the first month, so please keep children and pets off during this time.
Inform whoever treats your yard and tell them to NOT treat it for one month, (except for fertilizer). Do not mow or use chemicals (except fertilizer) on your new sod for the first month.
After 30 days, please get on a weed/fertilizer program with a chemical company to maintain the health of your new sod.
Moles and Army worms go after the BEST sod they can find. Once your first month is over, the sod will be grown in. Ask your chemical company to treat for those two pests (Moles & Armyworms), in addition to your current treatment plan.
We guarantee that the sod is in good condition and properly installed on the day of installation. Caring for the new sod is the homeowner’s responsibility, but if you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact our team!
